I didn't even notice this anniversary at Christmas time so belated congratulations :) Think it's been three years of reviewing books for the other section over here before News and Reviews was added as a subsection.

However I do tell people to start with your archives whenever I am recommending the blog. With this version of Wordpress giving related comments it's the only reason I noticed this anniversary post in the first place, it's easy to miss new posts at busy times, even when the updates themselves become infrequent due to life in general.

Plus, your feelings about whatever you have posted about eight years ago may change over time therefore making it good to revisit certain subjects. There certainly wouldn't be a whole heck of a lot of point saying "I still feel exactly the same about XYZ in 2010 as when I first said it".

Eight years, huh? Wow! I had my four year anniversary (come to think of it) in November. But, I sometimes feel close to what you're talking about here. But, you're right: we need to hang in there and keep on advocating with staggering statistics like this. Thanks for the Darkness 2 Light link. I wasn't aware of some of those numbers. Keep up the great work, Mike!

39 million is a straggering number isn't it? Like Leah, I would like to add my thanks to hers for all that you do with your blog and the Survivors Network. Have a glorious 2010. As you grow, your writing grows with you so even if you write about the same topics they are different because you are different. That's my thought and I am sticking to it.
