Don\u2019t make spending time with them a one-off<\/li>\n<li>Be honest but not opinionated<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to share your own vulnerability<\/li>\n<li>Take care of some of their responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Bring a book or a movie to watch together<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A word of caution?\u2014?there is one thing worse than not caring at all, and that\u2019s \u201cperformative kindness.\u201d In all your interactions, you should strive to be authentic and sincere. Make sure your acts of kindness are genuine and not for show.
