Since one of those\u00a0external offenders is alleged to\u00a0be a\u00a0high ranking\u00a0Conservative politician from the 1980s\u00a0the PM\u00a0had no option but the answer Mr Messham&#8217;s demand for action.<\/p>\n<p>Since Mr Cameron\u00a0was out\u00a0of the country when he made the announcement,\u00a0he first offered Mr Messham direct contact with the current Welsh secretary. At the moment\u00a0it remains to be seen what role the devolved Welsh\u00a0Assembly would play in any new enquiry.
