Her book could be summed up in three words: know thine enemy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Using her considerable reporting skills and her unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Paperny leaves no stone unturned in her quest to understand the history of her affliction, the available treatment options, and new research shimmering like a mirage on the horizon.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>While her reporting is as impeccable as her sources are unimpeachable, it is the frisson of urgency \u2014 a subtext wrought by the author\u2019s own desperate desire for recovery \u2014 that makes this book so much more than a state of the nation on mental health care.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve read the book, let us know your thoughts on it. I can see where having someone who is used to investigating and reporting describing her own search for information and treatment would be quite an eye opener for people not familiar with the current state of mental health care, and also educational to those of us who want to learn more about mental health conditions and how they occur.
