The story in Canada is the same story we see everywhere else. We put people struggling with their mental health in jail because they are inconvenient and we don’t have anywhere else to put them.
That there are no other available treatment options aside from throwing them in prison, possibly the worst thing we could do in terms of treatment, is no one’s fault but our own.
