The attackers of two boys aged 9 and 11 in Northern England, who were of a similar age themselves, were jailed indefinitely with a minimum term of five years last Friday. This followed their admission to some charges to halt any further trial on attempted murder. Naturally, many think this is too low and there have been several official petitions to the Appeal Courts to have the sentence defined as unduly lenient, which would result in an increased tariff.
