Found another blog being written by an abuse survivor over the weekend, Shattered Dollhouse. Seems like I’ve been finding a few more lately, or maybe they’re finding me, eh? Obviously I’m glad to see more people openly talking about abuse and surviving, but at the same time, I’m sad that there are so many of us out here. As always, if you have any suggestions on sites to fit into any of the categories, I’m always looking for more!

We need to be believed, we need to feel safe, we need to know that we are worthy of protection, and we need to be heard. Those things are a significant part of healing, regardless of our age. If you have a loved one of any age who is trying to heal from sexual abuse, these are good things to remember, and you should read the whole thing!

    Watching Athlete A

    If you pay attention to the news at all, I’m sure you’ve seen something about Larry Nasser over the past couple of years. You may even be fairly familiar with the story. If so, the Netflix documentary Athlete A might not offer a lot of things you don’t know to some extent or other. But, you may want to watch it anyway, even though watching it and hearing the stories will be difficult. I did a couple of nights ago, and had a couple of thoughts about it, in no real order of importance.
