Link – Steps to Depression Recovery: Structure

I do tend to agree with this, it’s difficult to deal with depression without having some structure to your days. Things you commit to doing regularly.

Adding a little structure to your day and week can really make a difference in jump starting your recovery from depression. Find what feels best for you. You know yourself best. Be open to change, and be open to help. Be open to structure.

It can be relatively simple things, but there needs to be something that gets you up and going. For me it was some very simple activities, going to the library and committing to finishing the books I borrowed, signing up to play rec-league hockey, etc. Without that it’s sometimes too easy for us to float through our days with our depression driving the decisions. That’s not a recipe for good mental health.
