Have You Used a Mental Health App Successfully?

With yesterday being World Mental Health Day I saw a couple of tech news sources that I subscribe to for my day job sharing some tips on mental health apps. For example:

Looking through the lists there was a mix of things I’ve heard of, a couple I’ve tried out, and some that are totally new to me. The problem with sharing these articles that I have is that for me, none of these have really worked very well. But, before you click away from this post and dismiss the whole idea, I’ve mostly tried these in an effort to develop a meditation practice, and it just hasn’t taken. That might not be because of the app as much as it’s about me. I’ve tried a few times without apps to meditate and that didn’t stick either.

I know there are a lot of other tools available in these apps, especially around journaling or mood tracking, etc. that I’ve never really tried.

So, dear readers. rather than assuming mental health apps don’t work because I haven’t done a good job of using them and letting them help me, let’s have a conversation about what mental health apps have, or haven’t, worked for you, and why. I’m curious to know what the crowd has to say, and what advice you would give others.
