Mental Health Day Blog Party

2015-world-mental-health-dayPinOver at Psych Central they are gearing up for another Mental Health Day Blog Party.

If you’ve never seen, or taken part, in the annual event before, it is a great way to gorge yourself in reading about mental health, and the various issues that many of us deal with and write about. It’s also a great way to find new voices that maybe you’ve not seen online before.

I plan on taking part myself, by writing a little bit about the chosen topic this year, “dignity in mental health”. I hope that many of you will consider joining me, and if you want to take part but don’t have a blog of your own, feel free to let me know and I’ll see about possibly opening up the book/movie reviews submission form to more personal stories for the day!

  • Is everybody happy?

I got an email the other day with a sort of throw away comment that bothered me. Not so much in an offensive way, more of a “huh?”. The comment was this “My goal in life is to make everyone happy”. Now that sounds nice, and on first reading it was that sort of self-sacrificing,…
