Upgrade

ByMike McBride Reading Time: 1 minute

I just upgraded this site to the latest version of Movable Type, if you see anything a little odd, please let me know. Thanks!

Also, I’m working with a new blogroll plugin for Movable Type to see if I could maybe make use of that instead of doing everything by hand as I do now. The first step is cleaning out all the old blogs that either don’t exist any longer or haven’t been updated in a LONG time. Once I get the lists whittled down, I’ll spend some time looking for new blogs and then eventually I’ll get the new lists added to the templates. In the mean time if you want to suggest any blogs for the categories that are listed, let me know!

Discovered a handful of new blogs this week that I’ve added to the side of the page. First a pair of abuse survivors DanDare, and Jennefer, and also a blog by someone dealing with MS called Thoughts from my broken brain. Thank you for sharing your stories with us!

  • New Newsletter Option

ByMike McBride Reading Time: 1 minute

What I have been experimenting with, and which might interest some of you, is the new email newsletter tool that Twitter has made available, called Revue. It’s a little more hands-on than the current newsletter, so while I plan to send it out every Friday, I can’t swear to you that will always happen. On the other hand, I get to add some more stuff to this newsletter because it’s more hands-on. So I can pull in some links from other sources, drop in some text, etc. In essence, I’ll be experimenting with it, but you can expect that the goal will remain the goal I’ve always had with my blog, writing, and sharing interesting things related to surviving child abuse, and mental health issues.

You can subscribe, and take a peek at some of my recent experimental issues over at my Revue profile. I hope you’ll consider subscribing, and sharing with your friends if you find it useful!

  • Sorry

Sorry for the couple of spam comments yesterday. The server this site is on had a Perl problem that made my installation of both Movable Type and MT-Blacklist stop working correctly even though the comments functions kept working. So my anti-spam tool wasn’t working and I couldn’t get into MT to delete the spam comments,…

OK, I had to switch hosts over at my domain so things here got a bit slack while I was dealing with all of that over there. Now that I’ve got that settled into it’s new home, I’m going to try and republish this blog over in a directory on that domain and just link…
