Follow Up On Priest Convicted of Cover Up

Following CBG’s post about a priest convicted of covering up sexual abuse, I received an email informing me of a blog post written by Alan Collins, a UK solicitor who specializes in abuse claims. In it, he provides a recap of the case, and what it means going forward.

Granted, as a solicitor part of his blog post is about contacting his firm if you are a victim of abuse, but aside from the sales pitch, I do believe Alan makes some good points about how this case shows that the Church is responsible for it’s own actions in not investigating and reporting abuse that was happening in its midst. Monsignor Lynn may only be the first of many to find themselves on the wrong side of this kind of ruling.
