Link – Mental Health Treatment Associated With Fewer Depressive Symptoms for Teens

Sunrise From the PlaneI’ve said it a few times in the last couple of weeks, but here’s a study that proves it. Getting people help early makes a huge difference in helping them not have serious problems later.

“The study, published in Lancet Psychiatry, found 14-year-olds who got some form of mental health treatment had a greater decrease in depressive symptoms than teens with the same symptoms who didn’t access treatment. For teens who didn’t get treatment when symptoms started, they are more than seven times more likely to report major depression by the age of 17 than the teens who did get help.”
