Link – It’s official: antidepressants are not snake oil or a conspiracy – they work

There is still much we don’t really know about why they work, or why they don’t work for some people, but I agree with Mark when he says this:

“The upshot of this, the most intensive piece of meta-analysis ever conducted into antidepressants, is that the millions of people (including me) who take them – reluctantly, sceptically, hopefully – can continue to do so without feeling guilt, shame or doubt about the course of treatment.”

You are taking medicine to treat something the same way you would take antibiotics. There shouldn’t be stigma about that.
