Clergy abuse victim

One of the more prominent victims of sexual abuse by a priest, Patrick McSorley, has apparently killed himself this week.

I think the best summary of this situation is what Andrew Sullivan had to say about it, “some scars never heal“. No, some never do, you either learn to live with them, or they kill you. Unfortunately for Patrick, the scars got the best of him.

You Don’t Expose Truth By Spreading Lies

I’ve noticed a disturbing trend in the survivor community recently, and finally decided to say something about it after a recent post on Facebook this past weekend. The trend is of spreading “news” from clearly fake news websites in order to spread awareness about child abuse. In this case, I’m sure many of you saw,…

    Trust Issues

I was having a conversation recently about relationships with someone who travels as part of their job, like I do. One of the big things that we agreed upon is that being in a relationship with someone who you will wind up spending a lot of time apart from, requires more trust than many people…

It seems to me that there are…

  1. This sad event on the heels of the Vatican’s pronouncement that Americans are being too hard on these priests. The Church says since they can no longer keep an eye on abusers once they’ve been forced to leave the priesthood that children are safer if priests are allowed to remain despite being abusers.

YOu know, my tax money goes to fund SEVERAL very nice facilities where these abusive priests can rot.

    I’m just disgusted.
