Whitney Houston’s Biopic Reminds Us that No One Type of Person Abuses
Surprisingly, it’s only now, after the movie has been shown at Cannes, that we are learning of one of the biggest secrets of Whitney Houston’s tragic life. That she and her brother were both abused by her cousin, Dee Dee Warwick. (Dionne Warwick’s sister) On the one hand, this story begins to fill in the…
Reviews Elsewhere – The Stressed Years of Their Lives
Psych Central has a review of a book that covers a topic that has been in the news, and on the minds of parents, quite a lot recently. In their new book, The Stressed Years of Their Lives: Helping Your Kid Survive and Thrive During Their College Years, Hibbs and Rostain offer a comprehensive guide…

I’ve discussed at length the importance of strong relationships with parents as the best preventive measure we have for keeping children safe and supported. I’ve also discussed, on my other site, the importance of work-life balance and inclusivity in the workplace for parents. That’s what being a community that supports families’ needs to succeed includes.
