Link – Help children stay safe online during the summer hols: a guide for parents, grandparents and carers

I’m a little late seeing this article from the IWF, but I was so, so happy to see what their number 1 thing to do was:

1. Talk about online safety with your children, as soon as they have access to internet connected devices.

Don’t send them off into the online world without some education. You wouldn’t do that anywhere else, don’t do it online. If they are old enough to be online, they’re old enough to have an age appropriate conversation about who else is online.

There is much more at the link, some of it good advice, some of it I feel a little more ambivalent about, but this is vital. Educate yourself, and pass that on to your kids.
