Link – Children more likely to report sexual abuse if they know a trusted adult

This quote is about kids who might tell someone at school, but I think the idea has much wider applicability.

“Children who have been abused or who are survivors of abuse would definitely benefit from having an adult in the school that they can go to and talk to. Someone that they can confide in, someone that they can trust,” Licensed Psychologist Dr. Bill Moredock said.”

Think about it. If a child is being abused, they will only tell an adult who they trust and who is available to care.

Are you that adult for the kids in your life?

Parents, is this the relationship you have with your kids? Do they know they can come to you anytime and trust that you’ll listen and care?

If not, who knows what they aren’t talking about?
