Have We Overlooked Men When Talking About Body Shaming?
I’ve been lucky enough to see a couple of men talk about eating disorders, and body image, but I’ll be the first to admit, if you asked me, based on what I see and hear, if these were mostly women’s issues, I’d probably say yes. But that’s wrong. These are very much men’s issues and trans issues as well. We make jokes about dad bods and assume it’s no big deal because it’s men, and they don’t have the same problems, and hang ups, but we do. There are far more people in the world struggling with their body, and disordered eating, who aren’t included in the conversation because we assume it’s a young women’s issue.
Sharing – Psychoeducation: What It Is and How it Helps
Get educated about trauma and the conditions that can be caused by trauma. Do it for yourself so that you can understand and heal from your trauma and do it for the people around you impacted by trauma.
Don’t tell me you don’t know anyone who’s been impacted by trauma. That’s simply not true.

Sharing – How giving to others can boost mental and physical health
Obviously, today, you’ll hear a lot about fundraising efforts, and that’s fine. However, that’s only one way to give of yourself. Even small acts of kindness can positively affect our mental health and boost our outlooks. So, if you’re struggling right now, feeling out of sorts with the world, etc., do something nice. Volunteer your time, give money, or notice someone who could use a small act of kindness and provide it.
