The shell is in place

I managed to get all the content from the old site that I wanted to move, moved over the weekend. The “shell” of the site is in place so now I begin working on additions to the content. The layout is going to remain as is, for now. I’m happy with the simple look and slight tweaks to the default colors and stuff. As far as adding new features, those will come, in time. Until the site starts to grow a little I don’t see that there’s much of a point to adding discussion forums, for example. But I have the ability to, if it becomes something folks would like. For now, I’m more focused on the books list and writing blog/journal posts.

In the mean time, I hope you enjoy what’s here and please, if you have any comments or suggestions, you know where to leave those!

    Social Media Connections and Stigma

Earlier this week, I wrote a post on what I refer to as my “day job” blog about how admission offices do actually look at the social media profiles of prospective students. • Now on Instagram Too

Being a tech and social media geek means that I’m always playing around with new things. That’s absolutely the goal I have in mind, but it’s the details that are the stumbling block. I mean really, what…

  • Just registered

I have officially registered childabusesurvivor.net as the new home of this blog and the rest of my child abuse site that’s currently sitting over at Geocities. I got an offer for a free small hosting account for this site and really couldn’t refuse. I’d love to tell you who gave me the offer, but he…

  • Doctor’s Perspective

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, I found myself listening to a science program on the BBC here in the US the other evening. When I joined in, the expert was wrapping up a discussion about the heart, about how it works, how it’s designed to work, etc. It was interesting, but what he…

  • From a comment

I saw this comment hit the blog this evening, and have since sent an email response, but I wanted to share my thoughts with others, and perhaps get a discussion going around the topic. Here’s what Amie wrote earlier: No victim of child abuse will EVER live a happy life. Somewhere deep down inside, they…
