RAINN Brings Back Matched Donations Throughout April ’13
April 2013 has been rebranded to National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month rather than having a general child abuse focus. It’s an interesting choice but since calls from adult survivors to RAINN’s helpline have risen by 200% following Penn State and other collegiate abuse scandals of last year, the new focus is understandable. RAINN is running its semi regular matched donation scheme for the whole month until Tuesday 30th April (although its News section doesn’t confirm whether this is for brand new donations as well as money from previous donors on their email list).
The US Army has also acknowleged the campaign with an article from its newsletter here and the Air Force has updated its policy as well, which you can read about here.
