Link – How ‘MeToo’ is exposing the scale of sexual abuse
I’m glad this is allowing some to share, and that we are even seeing male victims share their stories. On the other hand, it’s unfortunate that there are some who are only interested in hearing from certain types of victims, even when the original idea was to demonstrate the breadth of the problem! Still, I’m glad that many are taking a look at the issues involved, and the fact that there are too many people, yes people, who feel entitled to use others for their own desires.
At the end of the day, it’s not about gender or sexual identity, it’s about that level of entitlement and power. There’s too much of that, and that’s why there are too many people who can say Me Too, including this man.
I also hope others who have not shared, or are not in a situation where it is safe to share also know that we know they are out there, and we support them too.
