Link – Early intervention important when fighting depression

Don’t wait and hope it’ll get better.

“Early intervention is important in many other psychiatric conditions as well. Schizophrenia, anxiety disorders and other mood conditions such as bipolar disorder are just a few examples of chronic psychiatric conditions that benefit from early intervention.”

On the other hand, this is why we need to do so much more to make sure treatment resources are available. We struggle and struggle just to get to the point where someone with depression would agree to seek out some sort of treatment. Making them then wait 6 months, a year, or longer, is just doing more harm during that time.
