Sharing – Taking Care Of Your Mental Health: An Obligation In 2025

I wrote yesterday in the newsletter about anxiety being a normal reaction to the world today. In our current political climate, that is true. I also recently had a conversation about how the rate of change at work is anxiety-inducing because it just keeps speeding up.

Skills we mastered 2-5 years ago are no longer relevant. The technology I work with every day changes weekly. There are updates, new features, improvements, bugs, etc.

Staying on top of it is a mental struggle. That’s why I completely agree with this statement:

In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing world, taking care of your mental health has become more than just a personal goal—it is an essential obligation.

Life is complicated and uncertain. Our mental state is impacted by that every single day. It is no longer a choice to do the things that support our mental health. I would add that it’s not just an obligation we have to ourselves but an obligation we owe each other. Take care of yourself, and support other people when you can. That’s the only way forward.
