Social Network Crowd Therapy?

What do you think, can the crowd be trusted to provide a safe, encouraging, social network to help with anxiety and depression?

On the one hand, I know it takes a solid support system to overcome mental health struggles, and why couldn’t that support system be online?

On the other, I’ve been on social networks since way back, and there’s always someone out there just acting like a troll, which would seem to be a constant danger in a situation like this. If they can develop a system to keep that in line, it could be worth a shot. It’s difficult these days to have a support system that is local, if we could develop one online, why not?

I guess we’ll see how it develops, but it certainly is an interesting idea.
