Almost a fortnight ago there were a handful of historical allegations against UK DJ and TV Presenter Jimmy Savile, who died last year. By the end of last week there were over 60 allegations from more than 340 calls to the police force in charge. Today the National Association of People Abused In Childhood (NAPAC) reported a tenfold increase in calls to its hotline – over 1,400 – and the NSPCC also reported some calls which it referred on to the police along with 20 other historical disclosures.
