Make sure that the children in your life always know that they have the right to be safe, and that it is not their fault if they find themselves in abusive situations. When children know that they have rights, they are more apt to report abuse.”

I love that this is number one on the list. Nothing lessens the probability of a child being abused like making that child less of a target. Nothing makes them less of a target than being a kid who is likely to tell someone what is happening.

It’s not a perfect solution, but it goes a long way.
