Link – Survey finds adults are unaware of child abuse signs or how to report it
This study was done in Australia, but is there any doubt that the rest of us have the same desire to not think about child abuse, and to hide ourselves from the truth of it? That’s why so many don’t know what to look for or how to report it, they’d simply rather not think about it.
“Of those surveyed, one quarter said they did not know the signs of child abuse and neglect while 41 per cent admitted they would need to Google how to report suspected abuse.”
But, of course, we have to think about it, because it’s simple too prevalent to ignore. It affects people all around us, even if we aren’t aware of it. We all have a role to play in preventing it.
