Sharing – Check out some books that prove mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all
I’m sharing this because the title reminded me of something I try to remind my readers of. Our mental health struggles are different. What worked for me in healing might not work for you. This list reminds us that not only are there individual differences within each of us and our mental health, but also cultural differences that can be difficult to recognize when we are outside of that culture.
Not everyone has the same cultural background when it comes to treating mental health, and that can create a hurdle that is different than the hurdles we all face in dealing with our mental health. This post tries to acknowledge that and provide reading recommendations from some of those cultures.
If you’re Black, Brown, queer, an immigrant, or come from a culture where therapy is taboo, this reading list was built for you.
