Sharing – US suicide rate up 40% in 17 years, blue-collar workers highest risk: CDC

The headline really sort of says it all doesn’t it? Yes, it does. It highlights just how awful we have gotten when it comes to mental health issues, and what the consequences have been.

Can you imagine any other cause of death having a 40% increase in 17 years and how many programs and resources would be dedicated to fighting it?

Well, we have that with suicide, and we’re barely scratching the surface of figuring out how to turn these numbers around.

While official resources try to figure out what to do, remember what it is that you can do for the people in your life. It’s a start!
