Link – How to talk to your child about sexual abuse

“Kids don’t want to talk about it.

Parents don’t know how to talk about it.

The only time people tend to talk about sexual abuse is when it makes the news”

Sadly, this is another news story that is bringing the subject to light in New Jersey, and another opportunity to remind people that they need to talk to their kids, before someone else does:

That suggests that, in many cases, victims knew and trusted the people who told them it was “perfectly all right,” more than they trusted themselves when they felt it was all wrong.
