Self Care Doesn’t Need to be Costly
Often we see advice online to set aside some time for self-care. All too often that includes things like getting a massage, a spa day, travel, eating out, etc.
Those are good, but they all cost money. They are also all probably going to be unlikely options for all of us for the next couple of months as well.
That’s why I was glad to see this article shared on Twitter today:
16 Ways To Practice Self-Care That Cost Next To Nothing
Granted, a couple of these tips involve getting together with close friends offline, so we may need to make due with phone calls and Facetime chats for now. And yoga classes might need to be online too for awhile. On the other hand, many of these are things we can do in our own homes, and don’t really cost much.
For example:
Get some sun
- Clean and organize your space
- Journal
- Move your body
- Take deep breaths
- Meditate
You can do all of these, right now. They count as self-care too. In fact, anything that is good for you, when you do that thing, you are practicing self-care. Don’t let Instagram tell you otherwise.
